Private, Class for WOW (Women of Wellness)
This listing is for the Women of Wellness group (WOW) - organized by Kacy Stampfl/hosted by Heather Steer. Please only book if you are part of this group.
Designed for complete beginners - no prior experience needed. If you’ve ever wanted to learn Mahjong but didn’t know where to start, this is the perfect introduction class.
In this class, I’ll guide you step-by-step through the fundamentals of American Mahjong from understanding the tiles and setting up the game to learning the core rules and flow of play. My teaching style is visual, supportive, and easy to follow, so you’ll never feel overwhelmed as you learn.
Private classes are designed to meet you right where you are, while still feeling elevated, engaging, and fun.

What We’ll Cover
★ The basic rules and flow of American Mahjong
★ How to read and understand the National Mahjong League card with ease
★ Table setup, dealing, and game mechanics
★ Tile identification and understanding suits & honors
★ Foundational strategies to help you make confident, informed decisions
Included in Your Class:
★ Mingle & Mahj SD Beginners Guide To Learning American Mahjong
Available for purchase:
- Official 2026 National Mahjong League Card ($15)
Private Class Policies:
All participant in a private class must be registered/booked 7 calendar days before the scheduled class/event start time.
This final number will be used for planning materials, table setups, and staffing.
Host Cancellation
If the host needs to cancel the private class/event, they may do so up to 72 hours before the class start time and all guests will receieve a full refund of all payments made.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of the class are non-refundable, for any reason.
Unfortunately, illness, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies cannot be accommodated for refunds within the 72-hour window.
If participants cancel, it is the host’s responsibility to find replacement players in order to maintain the minimum required number of players (8).
Teacher Cancellation
In the event that a class must be canceled due to instructor illness, family emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified promptly and offered alternative dates to reschedule.
If a new date cannot be agreed upon within 30 days of the original class, a refund will be issued for the missed class.
Thank you for understanding and respecting these policies, which allow us to keep class sizes intimate and ensure the best possible experience for your group.
If alcohol is being served at a private event, participants are asked to limit consumption to no more than two alcoholic beverages. Excessive alcohol consumption can negatively impact the group dynamic, learning environment, and participants’ ability to fully engage in gameplay.
The host assumes all responsibility and liability related to the service and consumption of alcohol at the event and agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Ashley Wilson LLC from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or incidents arising from alcohol service or consumption.
